New company names

blog-no-namesWe have been made aware over the last couple of days that the scammers are using various new phone numbers and company names when contacting people, as before they are designed to look like UK based numbers but we believe they are in fact based abroad. If you are contacted from any of the numbers listed on this blog and the caller claims to represent any of the companies named below, DO NOT proceed with any transaction and if you have actually made a recent loan application, please report the matter to the company you applied with.

Caller names

Phone Ear PieceWe believe the scam originates outside the UK with telephone numbers designed to look like locally based numbers.

The callers introduce themselves with British sounding names, see examples of some which have been reported to us below:

  • Simon F Dunn
  • David Farrel
  • Jessica Davies
  • Colin Roberts
  • Mr D Darsono
  • Mark Wilson

If you are contacted from any of the numbers or email addresses listed in our blog and they give any of these names, please report it to us immediately as you have been targeted by the scammers.

Our call from 02032 869 261 including a new payment method

Our member of staff was called today from 02032 869 261 (actually displays as 00-02032869261 on their mobile) again it was an Indian call centre, this time the caller gave the name ‘Andrew Smith’.

They were asking for an activation code in order to pay out the £8,000 loan, when he was asked how we go about getting this activation code he used our staff members’ postcode to find a local mini-market.  We were told to go here and load £266 onto a 3V Visa prepaid card (visit www.3vprepaid.com for more information) which we would receive a receipt for, with a reference number, as well as an account number for the card and this is what they call an activation code.

Obviously you are going to give them the details of the card and the reference on the receipt and somehow they will take that money and never send you the £8,000 loan.

As always, if you have received a call or have any more information about this number or the scam in general then please comment below.

New Number, 02032 869 261, and caller information

Our member of staff who placed the initial phone call to the scammers has now been contacted from a new number.

This time they didn’t attempt anything on the initial call, they asked for a time that would be good to call back the following day to get the activation code for the loan to be paid to an account and confirm that our staff member would have their sort code and account number ready.

They should be calling at 10:30am today so look out on the blog for an update.

Our Call from 0161 408 2498

Once we found out about this number one of our staff decided to call them and pretend to want a loan.  Unfortunately we thought they may have got on to us and decided not to phone us back, but after waiting over the Easter Weekend they contacted our staff member at 14:40 on Tuesday, 10th April.

The caller confirmed our staff members’ name and the loan amount, including the term of the loan whilst stating they were the ‘Personal Loans Company’.  Upon confirming the details of the £8,000 loan for a car purchase we were told that the loan has been approved, even though we provided them with a dummy name, incorrect date of birth and false postal address.  Continue reading

Called from 0161 408 2498?

Phone Ear PieceThat’s right – if you are being called from this number, 0161 408 2498, then it’s a scam and are they are only after you parting with your money.

We obtained this number from an enquiry we received just a few weeks ago, we were immediately disgusted when we found out that the scammer’s were giving out our website address, www.unsecuredloansforyou.co.uk, and also quoting our company details on emails they send to their potential victims.
