John Lewis and Amazon Top Ten Christmas Toys 2017

As the Christmas Countdown begins, retailer John Lewis has published its top ten toys for 2017, and it seems the interactive and robotic toys are leading the way. John Lewis toy expert Harry Boughton said that “This year we’re expecting to see a rise in the demand for toys that combine learning with fun and play. As technology continues to improve our day-to-day lives with the rise of smart home devices, tech toys have also seen a rise in popularity, and they’re set to be the biggest trend this Christmas.”

Perhaps, more importantly retailers are also helping families who may struggle at Christmas, by launching a number of initiatives to spread the costs of the big day.  Asda, Halfords and ToysRus all have savings schemes to help families budget better. Furthermore, with unsecured loans rates continuing to be at an all-time low, there has arguably never been a better time to borrow.

Following on from John Lewis, online retailer Amazon has also revealed its top ten toys. Sriram Parthasarathy, toys and games manager at, said of the list: “Unwrapping toys on Christmas morning is one of the lasting memories of the festive season for every generation.
